Bitbucket + Memtro

Pull requests, pipelines and code from Bitbucket Cloud.

Connect Bitbucket Cloud with a scoped Atlassian API token. Memtro can answer who is waiting on a review, what a pull request changed, why a Pipelines run failed and what a file says on any branch, and it records merged pull requests and failed main-branch builds as memories every hour.

What you can do with Bitbucket in Memtro

Ask in plain English from chat, your editor, a scheduled job or your own agent. The model picks the right Bitbucket tool, reads what it needs, and answers with the source cited.

01

Daily stand-up

A team lead asks what merged yesterday and what is still blocked. Memtro lists the merged and declined pull requests it synced overnight and the open ones with missing approvals, each linked to Bitbucket.

02

Broken build

An engineer asks why main is red. Memtro pulls the latest pipeline, shows the failed step and its log tail, and connects it to the commit and pull request that introduced the change.

  • List repositories across your workspaces
  • Search pull requests and read them with comments, approvals and changed files
  • Browse commits on any branch or path
  • Read files or search code across a workspace
  • Inspect Pipelines runs with step results and failed-step logs
  • Hourly sync of merged or declined pull requests and failed main-branch pipelines
When you ask it to

These tools change something in Bitbucket. The model is told to use them only when you ask for exactly that, and an administrator grants each one by name to the teams that may use it; a personal connection acts only after its owner allows it.

  • Comment on a pull request, on the whole request or inline on one file and line
  • Approve a pull request, take that approval back, or request changes
  • Commit files to a branch as one commit, starting the branch from another when it is new
  • Open a pull request from a branch that is already on Bitbucket
  • Change a pull request's title, description, destination branch or draft state, or decline it
  • Merge a pull request, choosing the strategy and whether the source branch goes

Ask it like this

Questions people ask once Bitbucket is connected. In agent mode each one also checks the other systems that know about the same people, companies or identifiers.

  • ›Which pull requests in acme/web are open and unapproved?
  • ›What did PR 142 change and who requested changes?
  • ›Why did the last pipeline on main fail for the checkout service?
  • ›Show the recent commits touching src/billing
  • ›Read bitbucket-pipelines.yml from the develop branch

Where it fits

Teams that get the most from Bitbucket in Memtro, with the rest of their stack attached.

Better together

A record in Bitbucket is rarely the whole story. Connect the systems that hold the rest and the agent cross-references them by default, then remembers what it learned so the next question starts further along.

Also in Engineering and operations

Using something else for the same job, or both? Each connector has its own tools; connect as many as you like.

How to connect

  1. 01In your Atlassian account open Security → Create and manage API tokens → Create API token with scopes.
  2. 02Select the Bitbucket read scopes: user, workspace, repository, pull request and pipeline, and set an expiry.
  3. 03In Memtro choose Bitbucket, paste the token and your Atlassian account email; optionally set a default workspace.
  4. 04Test the connection; Memtro lists the workspaces the token can see.
Also works from

Chat in the dashboard, the OpenAI-compatible API, scheduled jobs, and any MCP client: Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, Claude Desktop. The Bitbucket tools are the same everywhere.

Questions

Can Memtro change anything in Bitbucket?
Only when you ask, and only what it has been granted: comment on a pull request, on the whole request or inline on one file and line; approve a pull request, take that approval back, or request changes; commit files to a branch as one commit, starting the branch from another when it is new; open a pull request from a branch that is already on Bitbucket; change a pull request's title, description, destination branch or draft state, or decline it; merge a pull request, choosing the strategy and whether the source branch goes. Every other tool reads, searches or lists. The Connections page labels the tools that act, an administrator grants each one by name to the teams that may use it, and a personal connection acts only after its owner allows it.
Who can use a Bitbucket connection?
A personal connection serves only your own requests. A shared connection serves the organisation: everyone, or only the teams an admin chooses. Admins can always add shared connections; other members need the permission.
Does Memtro store my Bitbucket data?
Credentials are encrypted at rest. Tool results are cached briefly so agent loops do not repeat identical calls, and the facts the model extracts are saved to your organisation's memory with provenance (system, record and link) so they can be checked and superseded. An hourly sync anchors recently changed Bitbucket records into memory as entities.
How do I connect Bitbucket?
API key. In your Atlassian account open Security → Create and manage API tokens → Create API token with scopes.
