Memtro vs Supermemory
A memory API for the application you are building, versus a memory for the company and the tools it already runs.
This comparison describes Supermemory as we understand it at the time of writing from its public materials. Products change; check the current details before deciding.
Supermemory is a memory API for developers: store documents and memories, retrieve them with search, and attach the result to your own model calls. You integrate it into an application you are building.
Memtro is a memory for an organisation rather than for an application. Nothing is integrated: existing clients point at an OpenAI-compatible endpoint or an MCP server and get memory, connectors (reading by default and acting where you grant it) into the company's systems, model routing and scheduled jobs.
Where they differ
| Memtro | Supermemory | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | A company's teams, through tools they already use | Developers, inside an application they are writing |
| Integration | Point a client at an endpoint; no application code for the common case | SDK and API calls around your own model calls |
| Where facts come from | Conversations, tool results and hourly connector syncs | What your application chooses to store |
| Connectors | Tools for the systems a business runs on, reading by default and acting where you grant it, anchored into the graph | You fetch and supply the content |
| Structure | Typed entities and facts with provenance, personal/shared per fact | Documents and memories you organise |
| Time | Bitemporal: supersession, as-of reads, a timeline of what changed | Current memories |
| Scheduling | Jobs created in plain language from chat | Your own scheduler |
Honestly, where Supermemory is stronger
If you are building a product and need a memory primitive inside it, a focused API is the right shape and a whole organisational layer is not. You keep full control of retrieval, ranking and what gets stored, which matters when memory is part of your product rather than part of your operations.
When to choose which
Choose Supermemory when the thing you are building is an application and memory is a component of it.
Choose Memtro when the thing you want is for your company's existing tools to share one memory and reach into your systems, with no application to build. If you are doing both, an application built on Supermemory can still call Memtro for company context.
