Client
Memtro for Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
Windsurf is Devin Desktop now; its agent takes Memtro as a remote MCP server for memory and connector tools.
Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop in June 2026 and the editor's agent kept its MCP support: stdio, Streamable HTTP and SSE servers from one JSON file. Memtro is a Streamable HTTP server, so one entry gives the agent your memory and every connector you are granted. The editor's models are its own (with bring-your-own Anthropic keys), so there is no custom model endpoint to point at Memtro; the tools are the integration.
What you get
- Remote MCP server with memory and connector tools inside the agent
- Nothing to run locally: Streamable HTTP with your Memtro key in a header
- Results anchored into memory and facts saved with memtro_remember, as in any client
How to connect
- 01Create a personal API key on Dashboard → Profile → API keys
- 02Add to ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json (Windows: %APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json): { "mcpServers": { "memtro": { "serverUrl": "https://platform.memtro.com/api/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer sk-memtro-…" } } } }
- 03Or open the agent panel's … menu → MCPs to add and enable it
Example queries
- › Search memtro for what we decided about retries
- › Use memtro to pull the customer's open tickets before I change the billing flow
Why it is better with memory
Through Windsurf (Devin Desktop) you get the same memory, connector tools, routing and jobs as every other client, so what one person learns in one tool is available to the whole team in all of them.
